One of the game's biggest agents has now confirmed plans for a major swap deal involving FC Barcelona and Netherlands forward Memphis Depay.

Various reports in Spain suggest that the Dutch star likely to leave the Camp Nou in the current window after being linked with a move to Inter Milan as well as Atletico.

The latter now seems to be his most likely next destination following a difficult spell at Barca, having made only 42 appearances, and featured just four times in this campaign, since joining the side back in July 2021.

Former Blaugrana boss Ronald Koeman's departure and the arrival of Xavi Hernandez in the club's hot seat saw the player fall down the pecking order, behind the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres.

It is believed the 28-year-old wants to leave the Catalonia as soon as possible in search of regular game time, with reports suggesting that Atleti have set their sights on him following Joao Felix's loan move to Chelsea.

With Barca reportedly demanding €7 million (R129 million) for Depay, who will be out of contract at the end of the season, football agent Pini Zahavi revealed on Tuesday that Barca and Atleti were working on a swap deal instead, one involving his client Yannick Carrasco.

"The plan is to trade Yannick for Memphis," the Belgian winger's representative told Nieuwsblad.

"There is nothing concrete yet, nor do I know if it will work, but negotiations are ongoing.

"Yannick likes Barca and is a good player."

Carrasco himself has refused to speak on potential deal that could see him leave the Rojiblancos, though, insisting that his focus is on finishing the season strongly at the Metropolitano Stadium.

"Right now, I only think about Atleti," the 29-year-old said, per Mundo Deportivo

"All the players have to be 100% committed to fight together for the objectives.

"The first part of the season has not been good, but we are going to fight for the Copa del Rey and to finish the league strong."

Meanwhile, Spanish journalist Gerard Romero has claimed that Diego Simeone's side are not keen on letting Carrasco go, and want French midfielder Thomas Lemar to be included in the swap deal instead.
